Dear members and readers

We really believe that 2015 was a special year for our Association and for Italian sport psychology. We would like to share some important moments.

We ended 2014 and started 2015 by activating several AIPS one-day training courses, that we will continue during this year.

In April 2015, AIPS co-organized the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the founding of ISSP in Rome: we participated as protagonists in the opening and realization of this important international event, in collaboration with other partners (Italian Society of Sport Psychology, National Order of Pychologysts, Italian Olympic Committee CONI, University of Rome “La Sapienza”, University of Rome “Foro Italico”, Italian University Network “Mind in Sport” with the support of the Editor Luigi Pozzi).

At the beginning of July 2015, we experienced the immense joy and satisfaction for the Award to our Past-President Prof. Claudio Robazza, as the first Italian researcher who obtained the prestigious Ema Geron Award. What a great moment! The excitement and satisfaction of this goal will remain for a long time with us. Again, we want to say “thank you” for being able to not only represent the AIPS in the international context, but also for what he continues to do for us today and in the future for the Italian exercise, performance and sport psychology!

In 2015, for the first time in its history, AIPS granted its patronage to an exhibition dedicated to sports at the Museum of Montebelluna (TV): We want to thank AIPS members Valter Durigon and Marcella Bounous for the time and effort they spent for that challenge,  without them nothing would have been done!

During the last year, AIPS supported and contributed to the realization of several master degrees in exercise, performance and sport psychology (Mestre, Chieti, Rome, Turin, Padua); this testifies to the growth of education in sport psychology, with more and more training offers activated at universities where  AIPS plays a key role as protagonist.

Regarding training in sport psychology, AIPS sponsored and co-organized another International event: in Turin, December 5, 2015 we experienced a high-level moment of confrontation and exchange, where several international experiences were compared with the Italian one. Another important event was played during that day: all working groups in sport psychology currently operating in the different regional Orders of psychologists were invited for the first time (historical novelty!) to know each other and to share their opinions behind closed doors. We want to thank the IUSTO friends for hosting these events. We presented our next XXI National AIPS Congress 2016 in Bologna and the natural context in which these different working groups can continue to talk to each other: we want to organize an unmissable round table or a workshop for everyone who is interested in  professions and professionalism in sport psychology.

In Bologna, the XXI AIPS National Congress 2016 will take place, from 27 to 29 May. This Congress will be the richest one for guests and international attendees.  We are pleased to inform you that the Congress will start with the Professor Anne-Marie Elbe, the President of FEPSAC! We have to thank our member Professor Maurizio Bertollo, who entered this year in the Managing Council of FEPSAC, for his excellent job of coordination! With Dr. Gianfranco Gramaccioni, President of the XXI AIPS National Congress 2016, we hope to have, as always, and more than ever, a great response by Italian colleagues, as well as foreigners! We are waiting for you in Bologna! These and other AIPS achievements encourage us to look to the future with optimism, and continue to promote and do our best for Italian sport psychology!
